Is a Nobel Far Off?

A fellow Blogger who has offered many comments to this site with great insight gave me a very wonderful tag, namely the Thinking Blogger Award. Mentarch, author of Another Point of View, which is listed in my More Insights section thought well enough of my humble observations to read them and give thoughtful commentary, I in return have enjoyed reading his blog and yes he's taught this ole dog a few things. I find his scientific analysis of ideas and ideals succinct with little room to argue against, at least not factually forgoing superstitious and magical thinking. It is this Blog's first award and will remained probably the most cherished should others come my way.

This award is creative as a meme, and there are three simple things one must do when claiming this award;

1) If and only if you get tagged, write a post with 5 Blogs that make you think.

2) Link to this post so that so that others can find out the exact origin of the meme.

3) Optional. Proudly display the "Thinking Blogger Award" with a link to the post you wrote.

Below are my choices, all are independent non A list blogs except one, but it's so damned good....

1. The Fallen Monk is a compilation of great articles and opinions with no twists and turns. This ain't shooting from the hip but from the shoulder with biting liberal sarcasm and great recipes. Conservatives should bring an adult parent or guardian with them when visiting there. A great read check it out.

2.My Quest, My Identity, Empowering Woman, authored by Petercrys. I ran across this blog through Blogging for Fame. It's focus is on stopping domestic violence against women with thoughtful and truly gut ranching (tear producing too) articles and insights from poetry and stories from women. I used to work as a therapist and Program Administrator with incarcerated women. Her postings remind me of an excellent book by a leading writer/trainer for domestic violence Ellen Bass, and her book Things I Never Told Anyone. The book and this website are awesome reads.

3. Life In The Fast Lane is an eclectic blog I like to visit to take me away from my usual readings. The articles are well written and referenced and cover topics from mythology, to scientific discussions on evolution and it's impact on humanity, some good intellectual humor and this Blog will keep you up to date on new scientific findings. (Deborah, have you figured out the one major flaw of that men/women talk study yet?).

4) firedoglake, what can I say I love the political news and commentary. Yes it is the equivalent of MSM to the Blogosphere, but if you don't think after reading the great posts there well sorry you are brain dead.

5) Oh Well is another fine liberal blog with news and stories not often widely reported. The articles are well researched and referenced and will cause you to wonder...."How the hell......" Topics are timely and though many opinions are offered elsewhere including here, Eric finds an extra dimension that will entice you to pursue the event further.

I hope you will visit these sites and find them as good reading as I did.

Wow, it's an honor, thank you Richard, and for your kind words as well :-)

Flaw with the post? Hmmm... I guess it's a matter of perspective, haha. I know that a lot of women felt the tables had been evened by it :-)

They had taken the groups and broken it down to an average to state that the sexes are both equal. There are some women that do talk a lot more than men, and vice versa. But I do know a couple of men that could talk a person's ear off.

So what do you feel the major flaw was?

I hope you don't mind that I'm going to need some time to respond with this tag. I've been tagged 9 times in just a little over a week!

Well the answer to the question I posed is really simple;) Look at the study's sample populationn......college kids. Lord knows they ALL talk too much sometimes. Not a viable cross sample but this observation is made in good humor.
